Education/Paraprofessional

Requirements:
An Associate’s Degree, or 60 college credit hours, or successful completion of the Pearson Education Paraprofessional Assessment [see information below]
Twenty-one (21) years of age.
Be able to read and write.  Have the ability to understand, and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.
Demonstrate an interest in youth and their educational welfare.
Ability and desire to assist the teacher in providing an educational opportunity for the handicapped child to attain his/her maximum potential.
Experience in working with children in a group setting.
Ability to work well with learning community, parents teachers, students, administrators and staff with courtesy, tact, and good judgment along with having good customer service skills.
Be of good character, neat in personal appearance, dependable, reliable, prompt, and flexible and have pleasing manners and personality.
Ability to cooperate with teachers and willingness to take directions from teaching staff.
Ability to stay uninvolved unless directed by the teacher, even if a situation is perceived differently than the teacher sees it.
